Petroleum Service Corporation is looking for Pump Mechanics to work in a new industrial refinery setting in Artesia, NM! This position is responsible for performing basic to advanced maintenance, new equipment installations, along with assisting the electrician and instrument technician as needed. Two year mechanical experience is a plus!

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Work under supervision of Planner/Scheduler.
  • Obtain proper work permits for all jobs.
  • Perform daily and scheduled maintenance on all PTU equipment including, but not limited to, compressors, pumps, blenders, centrifuges, filters and conveyors.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair process equipment and components.
  • Perform cutting/welding repair on structure, piping and equipment.
  • Perform basic pipefitting and plumbing repair on process air, fluid, steam and condensate systems.
  • Perform repairs on solids conveyors, bearings and gearboxes.
  • Cleanup site once maintenance or repair is completed.
Special assignments or tasks assigned by supervisor as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Required Skills
  • Good verbal/written communication, computer literate, good mathematical and problem-solving skills, ability to read & interpret various instructions, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Must have the ability to enter manways on towers, work in high places, confined spaces and around high temperatures
  • Perform work of consistent quality and visual acuity (including color, depth perception and field of vision)
  • Must be a team player, self-starter, independent worker. Possess good time management and analytical skills.

Physical Requirements
You must be able to:
  • Speak, write, read, hear, and have good vision
  • Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
  • Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
  • Lift 50 pounds floor to waist
  • Push and pull 50 pounds horizontally
  • Carry 20 pounds while walking
  • Walk 3-10 miles per day
  • Stand 4-8 hours per day
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Support oneself on a ladder with two feet and one arm extended for up to five minutes
  • Extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting
