PSC Group is seeking a full-time plant manager to join our team at our new Advanced Recycling Plant located in Baytown, Texas. The plant has state-of-the-art shredding, grinding and densifying equipment to provide customized feedstock for the commercial production of recycled polymers. This plant is part of the overall Sustainability Business within PSC Group. This is a fast paced and fast-growing business that is working to meet the customer demands around circular economies.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Direct and control all plant manufacturing activities through a functional staff organization according to sales planning and in compliance with all legal regulations concerning environment, health and safety, as well as, with defined standards and procedures.
- Manages personnel scheduling, time sheets, time-off requests, vacation, etc.
- Collaborates with management to ensure all daily production goals, safety and environmental requirements are met.
- Collaborates with office teams to ensure all inbound and outbound shipments meet appointment, labeling, and documentation requirements.
- Collaborates with the Customer Service Representative to ensure all inventory data is recorded accurately.
- Validates proper scheduling to maximize line efficiency while minimizing labor costs
- Ensures sample analysis are conducted per operating standards and with a high level of integrity
- Ensures the QA/QC process is strictly adhered to which allows PSC to meet customer requirements for product quality.
- Ensures plans, systems, and procedures are in place to operate the facility safely and efficiently.
- Provides support during development, installation and startup of new equipment
- Provides technical and operational expertise for overall support, monitoring and troubleshooting process equipment
- Identifies change and helps manage in accordance with plant practices for MOC / PSSR
- Communicates goals around operating performance and addresses performance issues when needed
- Participates in safety meetings and overall training initiatives
- Performs safety and quality observations in the warehouse
- Reviews safety / quality observation forms and identifies trends or areas of concern
- Plans and assigns daily workloads for work group and follows up accordingly.
- Understands and demonstrates a servant leadership mindset.
- Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.
- Experience in a leadership role involving operations, safety, and training
- Strong interaction with customers is key in this position
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, such as the ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization and within a presentation setting
- Stable work history with good references from past employers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in plastic recycling processes (sortation, densification, extrusion, etc) and corresponding equipment
- Experience in a leadership role involving some form of management/ manufacturing setting or quality role is preferred, however, other relevant experience will be considered
- Strong mechanical background
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understands how to work in an ERP system
- Proficient skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Required Qualifications:
- 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
- Stable work history with good references from past employers
- Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
- PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
