Petroleum Service Corporation is currently seeking a Benefits Assistant who is positive, energetic, self-motivated, highly organized, and a team player. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping employees, enjoys working with reports & spreadsheets, thrives on meeting deadlines and goals, and loves tackling new challenges.

The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for timely benefits reporting, maintaining files/data, and assisting employees with questions regarding benefits enrollment, changes, and general inquiries. A Bachelor’s degree or experience in human resources is preferred (benefit experience is a plus). The Benefits Coordinator will join a fun, energetic, and team-oriented HR department in our Baton Rouge office.


Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM / 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM / 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM)


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k), wellness program, and voluntary benefit plans.
  • Troubleshoot and respond to employee calls and emails regarding benefit questions and concerns (escalating concerns to HR Manager, as necessary).
  • Audit and upload weekly insurance instruction files & 401(k) deferral and loan files into the HRIS.
  • Maintain employee benefit filing and reporting systems.
  • Ensure benefit changes are entered timely and accurately into the HRIS system.
  • Assist with benefits annual enrollment communications, questions, and ensuring successful data transfers to the HRIS and carriers.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations due to dealing with highly sensitive employee data and health information.
  • Prioritize and organize daily responsibilities in order to meet all deadlines.
  • Assist HR Manager with other projects and duties as needed.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills in order to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high volume, and deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Benefit experience is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Excel (e.g. formulas, filtering, sorting, v-look ups, etc.), Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

Job Qualifications:

  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Speak fluent English
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
